Israel says it's waiting for American approval to launch a devastating attack that could set Iran's development back centuries.

Israel's Defence Minister, Israel Katz, made a statement on Thursday, stating that the country is "prepared to resume the war against Iran", and is awaiting approval from the United States to launch a devastating attack that would set Iran back to "the Stone Age".

Katz declared in a video statement that the Israeli Defence Forces are ready to launch both defensive and offensive operations, with targets already identified and marked.

The minister expressed that Israel is waiting for a green light from the US to eliminate the Khamenei dynasty and destroy Iran's key energy and electricity facilities, as well as dismantle its national economic infrastructure, effectively sending the country back to "the Dark Age and the Stone Age".

The initial US-Israel attack on February 28 resulted in the death of Iran's supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, and his son's subsequent succession, although the son has yet to appear in public, sparking speculation about his condition and whether he is still alive.

Katz warned that when the attack resumes, it will be "different and lethal", with devastating blows targeted at the most sensitive points, building on the significant strikes Iran has already suffered, which will ultimately "shake and bring down its foundations".

US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that the ceasefire between the US and Iran, which began on April 8, will be extended indefinitely to allow for negotiations with Tehran.
