Israel claims to have eliminated two high-ranking Iranian spy chiefs in the Iranian capital

The Israeli military announced on Saturday that it had carried out a strike in Tehran, resulting in the deaths of two senior Iranian intelligence officials, Abdollah Jalali-Nasab and Amir Shariat, just days after they took over from their assassinated predecessor.

According to Israel, the two men were high-ranking officials in the intelligence directorate of the Khatam al-Anbiya, the Iranian military's central operations command, and were killed on Friday.

The pair had replaced Saleh Asadi, the former head of the intelligence department at the Khatam al-Anbiya, who was killed on the first day of the war, according to the Israeli military.

The Israeli military stated that Abdollah Jalali-Nasab and Amir Shariat were appointed to replace Saleh Asadi after his elimination during the opening blow of Operation Roaring Lion.

Both men were reportedly close to the leadership of the Iranian terrorist regime, and the intelligence branch of the Khatam al-Anbiya Emergency Command is responsible for analysing intelligence, which is then presented to senior Iranian security officials.

The intelligence gathered is used to inform frequent situational assessments, on the basis of which the war against the State of Israel is conducted, according to the Israeli military.

The military also reported that several top Iranian officials were killed in an initial wave of strikes launched alongside the United States on February 28, including supreme leader Ali Khamenei.
