Iranian government broadcaster reports US rejects travel permits for nearly half of national soccer team's entourage
The 2026 World Cup, set to be hosted by three countries including the United States, has hit a roadblock, with the US denying visas to 15 members of Iran's delegation, according to a Saturday report by state television.
nA state television reporter, broadcasting live from Antalya, Turkey, where the Iranian team is currently holding a training camp, revealed that while visas have been granted to the national team and technical staff, 15 administration and management personnel are still facing visa issues.
nThe reporter's statement, made from the Turkish city of Antalya, highlighted the specific visa problems affecting the 15 members of the administration and management team, who have not received visas from the US.
