Iran claims the US has lost its authority to impose its will on other countries.

On Tuesday, Reza Talaei-Ni, a spokesperson for Iran's defence ministry, stated that the United States had lost its ability to impose its will on other nations, as Washington deliberated on a new proposal from Tehran regarding the unblocking of the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran's effective blockade of the strategic waterway, in place since the early stages of the war with the United States and Israel, has sent shockwaves through global energy markets and positioned the strait as a central issue in negotiations aimed at ending the conflict.

According to state TV, Reza Talaei-Nik, the defence ministry spokesman, asserted that the United States is no longer in a position to dictate its policies to independent nations, and that Washington would need to accept abandoning its "illegal and irrational demands".

A ceasefire has brought a halt to the fighting between Iran, the US, and Israel, yet talks focused on achieving a permanent conclusion to the conflict have thus far been inconclusive.

The proposal currently under consideration in Washington would reportedly involve the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial conduit for global oil and gas shipments, as part of broader negotiations on the war.

Reza Talaei-Nik, speaking ahead of a defence ministers' meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, also stated that Iran was prepared to share its defensive military capabilities with independent countries, particularly member states of the SCO.
