Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Iran's state-run Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs, disclosed on Saturday that the conflict with the United States and Israel has resulted in over 3,400 fatalities within the Islamic republic.
Ahmad Mousavi, the foundation's head, stated that 3,468 individuals were killed during the recent hostilities, as quoted by the ISNA news agency.
A previous report released by the head of the Iranian Legal Medicine Organization on April 12 indicated that the death toll in Iran stood at 3,375 due to the war.
The US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency, or HRANA, reported on April 7 that at least 3,636 people had lost their lives, comprising 1,701 civilians, including a minimum of 254 children, as well as 1,221 military personnel and 714 individuals whose status remained unclassified.
Due to existing reporting restrictions, it is not possible for AFP to access the locations of strikes or independently verify the casualty numbers in Iran.
