Investigation underway after woman, child, and male victim discovered deceased in Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the mysterious deaths of a woman, her four-year-old son, and another man, identified simply as “Shanko,” whose bodies were discovered in Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State.

The tragic incident occurred on Wednesday in the Egbe Subair area of Ijebu-Igbo, throwing residents of the community into shock and confusion.

Sources in the area disclosed that the lifeless bodies of the woman and the man were found inside the toilet of their residence, while the corpse of the four-year-old boy was discovered in one of the rooms within the house.

Residents who visited the scene said there were signs suggesting that a struggle may have taken place before the victims died. Some sections of the toilet and other items within the premises were reportedly found damaged.

Although the exact cause of their death remains unclear, speculation within the community points to possible poisoning.

However, authorities have urged the public against drawing conclusions pending the outcome of investigations.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said detectives had launched a full-scale investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

“The Ogun State Police Command is investigating the tragic deaths,” Babaseyi stated.

He added, “Investigation is ongoing, while the bodies have been deposited at the General Hospital Mortuary, Ijebu-Igbo.”

The police spokesman appealed to residents of the community to remain calm and allow investigators to carry out a thorough inquiry into the incident.

As of the time of filing this report, no arrests had been announced, while police authorities said efforts were underway to unravel the circumstances that led to the deaths of the three victims.
