International Women's Day: Female Representation Reaches 35% in Onigbongbo Council as Local Government Courts Business Investment

Moyosore Adebanjo, Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area, LCDA, has underscored the administration's dedication to promoting women's leadership, highlighting that the newly inaugurated Executive Council boasts a 35 percent female representation.

This significant representation is a testament to the administration's commitment to empowering women in leadership positions, with the goal of fostering a more inclusive and diverse decision-making process.

According to Moyosore, robust economies are not solely the product of government efforts, but rather the result of collaborative partnerships between the public and private sectors, emphasizing the need for private sector collaboration with his administration.

The Chairman made these remarks at the inaugural Chairman's Business Exchange, themed 'Give to Gain,' which brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including business leaders, policymakers, and representatives from the organized private sector.

The event, held at The Grandeur Event Centre in Oregun, Ikeja, aimed to strengthen collaboration and drive economic growth and community development, while also commemorating International Women's Day 2026.

Notable attendees included Dr. Oreoluwa Finnih-Awokoya, Special Adviser to the Governor on SDGs; Mr. Abdul-Kabir Opeyemi Ogungbo, Special Adviser to the Governor on Taxation and Revenue; and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Climate Change and Circular Economy, alongside representatives from the business community.

Moyosore emphasized that collaboration between government and enterprise is essential for driving development and shared prosperity, stating that "Strong economies are not built by government alone, they are built through partnership."

He further elaborated that when government and enterprise work together, development accelerates and prosperity becomes more widespread, ultimately benefiting the community as a whole.

To facilitate collaboration between businesses and the LCDA, the Chairman announced the establishment of a Public–Private Partnership Desk within the Office of the Chairman.
