Instability and Financial Struggles: Nigeria in Crisis – PFN

Nigeria's path to healing and overcoming its numerous challenges requires a profound sense of national repentance, according to the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Lagos Mainland Province, which recently hosted a crusade themed "Help From Above" at Bariga Primary School, Ilaje, Lagos.

The event took place amidst the country's rising insecurity, economic hardship, and the continued abduction of schoolchildren, with clerics emphasizing that repentance, rather than mere prayers, is essential to ending the crisis.

Pastor Chinedu Momah, Chairman of PFN Lagos Mainland Province, represented by Pastor Moses Mboso, noted that the country is facing a spiritual crisis that demands more than religious rituals, urging Nigerians to redirect their trust to God.

Momah stated that reliance on human solutions has failed to deliver lasting progress, saying "As a nation, we have put our trust in our leaders, we were looking up to man, and we have seen diverse kinds of people with different solutions they offered, but that has not advanced us, human intelligence has failed us."

He emphasized that true help can only come from God, and encouraged Nigerians not to lose hope but to contribute positively to national development in their various spheres of influence, noting that righteousness exalts a nation while sin brings reproach.

Pastor Andrew Umoru, the guest speaker and Lead Pastor of International Miracle Service, described Nigeria as a nation in distress, emphasizing that the country's problems require collective responsibility and that it should not be just a concern of politicians or those in positions of authority.

Umoru highlighted the severity of the country's problems, saying "The nation is bleeding right now, and it should not be just a concern of politicians or those in positions of authority, people are being kidnapped, students are being abducted from schools, citizens are crying out for solutions."

He stressed that prayers alone would not solve the country's problems without sincere repentance and a willingness to change, citing the Bible, which says, "If my people, who are called by my name, shall seek my face and repent, I will hear their cry."

Umoru noted that the problems facing Nigeria are collective, saying "We can pray, but if there is no repentance, sincerity and readiness to change, then God Himself will not help us, the people we call politicians are also Nigerians, we see bribery and corruption in markets, communities and villages."

Reverend Susan Ezeudemba, the Women's Coordinator of PFN Lagos Mainland Province, charged women to take active roles in nation-building, family stability, and societal development, highlighting the importance of women's participation in shaping the country's future.

The women's wing of the fellowship, according to Ezeudemba, regularly organises community outreach programmes, spiritual empowerment conferences, and leadership initiatives aimed at empowering women and the girl-child, with recent activities including regional prayer conferences, charity and empowerment programmes, and annual women's conferences.

The crusade was organised by the PFN Lagos Mainland Province in collaboration with International Miracle Service, with the aim of promoting national repentance and healing in Nigeria.
