The president's administration has been actively pursuing financial autonomy for Nigeria's 774 local government councils, aiming to ensure that democracy yields tangible benefits for citizens at the grassroots level.

According to Tinubu, the lack of effective local government administration has been a major obstacle to the nation's progress, with the current insecurity being partly attributed to the collapse of grassroots governance.

Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda is designed to guarantee that all Nigerians, regardless of their location or social status, benefit from governance and have equal opportunities for growth and development.

The president believes that each generation has a unique responsibility in the nation's development journey, with the current generation being tasked with securing prosperity for Nigeria.
