In Bayelsa State Under the Watch of His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri — Everything Has Become a Joke

The once respected and celebrated Bayelsa State has sadly turned into a laughing stock in the eyes of neighbouring states and Nigeria at large. Nothing seems to be working; governance has been reduced to intimidation, oppression, and the arrest of opposition members.rnrnDevelopment has been turned into a joke, and even the recent wave of defections in the state has become a comic display. Some individuals claim to have resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), yet none of them has officially written a resignation letter to their ward chairmen — which is the proper procedure.rnrnInstead of following due process, they prefer to showcase irrelevant activities on social media. Since when did returning party membership cards become a requirement for leaving a political party? Gathering your supporters to display membership cards publicly is unnecessary and meaningless. I urge Bayelsa political leaders to rise above such trivialities.rnrnBefore leaving a political party or intending to defect to another, the first and most important step is to write an official resignation letter stating your reasons.
