IGR: Ikeja Council extends Computer Village compliance deadline

LAGOS — Ikeja Local Government has extended the deadline for its ongoing revenue mobilisation and compliance exercise in Computer Village, giving traders and business owners additional time to settle outstanding council obligations.

The exercise has now been extended to Wednesday, according to the Chairman of the council, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda, popularly known as AKOD.

Dauda announced the extension after consultations with plaza managers during an on-the-ground compliance exercise across the commercial hub.

He led enforcement officials through major commercial corridors, including Pepple, Kodeso and Otigba streets, to audit shop records against the council’s database and reconcile outstanding accounts.

The exercise was also carried out simultaneously in other parts of the local government, including Alausa.

Dauda directed revenue officials to work closely with plaza managers to streamline record verification and facilitate the prompt reconciliation of outstanding accounts.

According to him, the extension was intended to give affected business owners additional time to regularise their documentation without disrupting commercial activities.

The chairman reiterated his administration’s commitment to transparency in revenue collection and improved public service delivery across Ikeja.

Meanwhile, the Vice Chairman of the council, Abisola Omisore, led compliance operations at other major commercial centres, including Shoprite, Onilekere and Onipetesi.

Revenue teams also conducted parallel verification exercises across their designated areas as part of the council’s revenue mobilisation drive.
