JOS — Gunmen have killed a 30-year-old man, Khalid Wahid, after invading his residence in Dong community, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The attackers reportedly stormed the victim’s home at about 1am on Sunday, forcefully dragged him outside and killed him before fleeing the area.

An uncle of the deceased, Mr Busari Kamal, who confirmed the incident to journalists, described the killing as shocking and unprovoked.

Kamal said the assailants did not steal any property or take away the victim’s belongings, suggesting that their primary objective was to attack him.

“They came around 1am, broke into his house, dragged him outside and killed him. They did not take his phone or any other property. They left everything behind and fled,” he said.

According to him, Khalid was found lifeless outside his residence shortly after the attackers left the scene.

He added that the motive behind the killing remained unknown, noting that the incident had caused grief among residents and heightened concerns over security in the community.

Kamal said the deceased had been buried according to Islamic rites.

Efforts to get comments from security agencies were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
