GTCO investors praise historic N12.76 dividend distribution

Shareholders of Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc (GTCO) have expressed their appreciation for the company's decision to declare a record dividend of N12.76 per share for the 2025 financial year, a move that sets a new benchmark in Nigeria's banking sector.
nThis development was announced at the company's 5th Annual General Meeting (AGM), where investors also commended the Group's impressive performance and its compliance with the Central Bank of Nigeria's minimum capital requirement of N500 billion.
nChief Timothy Adesiyan, President of the Nigerian Shareholders' Solidarity Association, noted that the dividend payout demonstrates the company's commitment to consistency and discipline in delivering value to its shareholders.
nMrs. Bisi Bakare, Chairman of the Pragmatic Shareholders Association of Nigeria (PSAN), described the dividend as a historic achievement and encouraged the company to maintain its momentum.
nGTCO had previously declared an interim dividend of N1.00 per share and a final dividend of N11.76, resulting in a total dividend of N12.76 for the year.
nAccording to Board Chairman Suleiman Barau, the Group has successfully transformed into a diversified financial services ecosystem, encompassing banking, payments, asset management, and pensions, thereby creating multiple streams of sustainable growth.
nBarau emphasized that diversification is key to enhancing resilience, reducing risk concentration, and strengthening value delivery to customers, while also underscoring the importance of disciplined risk management in the company's operations.
nHe highlighted the need to maintain a strong balance sheet, exercise prudent lending, and implement robust internal controls, particularly in the face of a challenging macroeconomic environment.
nGroup Chief Executive Officer Segun Agbaje stated that 2025 marked a significant milestone in the integration of the Group's business lines, leveraging data and digital tools to provide seamless services across Africa and the United Kingdom.
nAgbaje also highlighted GTCO's listing on the London Stock Exchange, describing it as a historic step that enhances the company's capital and improves liquidity for shareholders.
nLooking ahead, Agbaje expressed confidence in the Group's outlook, stating that GTCO remains resilient and well-positioned for sustained growth despite the prevailing global uncertainties.
