Governor Yusuf Confidently Declares He Will Run for Re-Election on APC Ticket

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has addressed a trending slogan implying he will only serve one term, shedding light on his political aspirations amidst the current realignments in the state's political landscape.

While speaking to a gathering in a video, Yusuf responded to the 'Falle Daya' (One term) chant in Hausa, which was directed at him, clarifying that his first term would be under the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), and a potential second term would be pursued under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to Yusuf, his tenure in the NNPP would be limited to one term, stating "Actually, it is only one term in the NNPP party," and further adding that "We will do the second term in the APC."

Yusuf also made a remark about the African Democratic Congress (ADC) party, saying "As for the ADC party that they have returned to, it will not even do one term, not ever."

Governor Yusuf recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) following a prolonged political crisis involving his estranged ally, Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Upon announcing his defection, Yusuf stated that the move was taken "in the best interest of the people of Kano state," marking a significant shift in his political affiliation.

Before leaving the NNPP, Yusuf had resigned from the party, citing "deepening internal crises" and "prolonged leadership disputes" as the reasons for his departure.
