Governor Soludo conducts school visits to bolster preparations for Monday's reopening

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra conducted a tour of various primary and secondary schools in Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area, on Monday, as part of efforts to put an end to the Monday sit-at-home disruption.

The schools visited by the governor included Community School, Unique Nursery and Primary School, Unique Secondary School, and Central School Primary School, among others, where he interacted with students and teachers to promote the resumption of normal academic activities on Mondays.

The governor expressed his delight at seeing students and teachers in classrooms on a Monday, a day that had previously been affected by forced closures for years, and described it as a significant step towards restoring productivity in the state.

According to Soludo, the return to normalcy in the education sector signifies that all sectors of the state's economy are gradually returning to normal, and he emphasized the importance of Mondays as a regular school day that sets the tone for productivity.

The governor urged students to adopt a strong work ethic and integrity, and to strive for comprehensive development in all aspects in order to compete globally.

Soludo highlighted the state government's partnership with mission authorities in the management of returned schools, where the state provides subsidies and supports teachers, while the missions provide infrastructure and maintain conducive learning environments.

The governor assured residents that adequate security measures had been put in place and directed school administrators to ensure proper student attendance records are kept.

Soludo commended teachers for their resilience and dedication to their work, and emphasized the need for the South-East to align with global standards that require people to work productively five days a week.

He stated that the development sends a strong signal to investors and residents that Anambra is reclaiming its economic and social life, and reiterated that the state is open for business and progressing steadily.
