Governor Lawal's Achievements Unmatched, a Historic Feat — BON

The recognition bestowed upon the Zamfara Rescue Mission has extended beyond individual praise, with corporate entities also acknowledging the governor's dedication to revitalizing Zamfara, as evident in the appreciation shown by various organizations.

On April 19, 2026, the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) presented Governor Lawal with the Infrastructure Governor of the Year award, recognizing his administration's notable achievements in the Urban Renewal project throughout Zamfara.

The awards selection process was overseen by the BON's Awards Selection Committee, which was chaired by Dr Danladi Bako, a former Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).

The awards panel comprised experienced individuals and representatives from the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) and the NBC, ensuring a diverse range of perspectives.

According to Dr Bako, the selection committee awarded Governor Dauda Lawal due to his remarkable progress across various sectors, particularly his efforts in transforming Gusau into a modern state capital.

Dr Bako highlighted that under Governor Dauda Lawal's leadership, Zamfara has experienced unprecedented accomplishments, including the construction of a modern International Airport in the state.

Apart from urban renewal initiatives, Governor Dauda Lawal's administration has also focused on the construction and outfitting of General Hospitals, as well as building, refurbishing, and equipping over 800 schools across the 14 local government areas of the state.
