Government vows to honour the contributions of military personnel – Shettima

Vice-President Kashim Shettima made a pledge on Saturday in Maiduguri, stating that the administration of President Bola Tinubu will continue to acknowledge the sacrifices made by the Nigerian Armed Forces.

This commitment was made while Shettima was offering condolences to the Nigerian Army and the Borno government following an attack that resulted in the death of Brig.-Gen. Oseni Braimah and other officers.

The vice-president also gave assurances that the military can expect ongoing operational support and improved welfare from the government.

Shettima expressed his admiration for the fallen soldiers, saying that they had made the ultimate sacrifice, and that their bravery serves as a reminder of the high cost of achieving peace and security.

He noted that the deceased officers had put their lives on the line to protect the nation, stating that "These men wore the uniform for all of us" and that they had worked to safeguard communities, families, and the future of children.
