PORT HARCOURT: A former Governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State, Alabo Dakorinama George-Kelly, has stated that the visionary leadership of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, in the Rainbow Coalition has given direction, structure, and purpose to the APC in the state.

This was as George-Kelly congratulated Hon. Ogundu Kingsley Chinda, on his emergence as the party’s consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 election.

George-Kelly in a statement in Port Harcourt, Friday, said Chinda’s emergence is a product of unity, patriotism, and commitment to the progressive ideals of the APC and the Rainbow Coalition in the state.

He noted that he had bought form to contest the ticket of the party, but withdrew from race in the interest of unity and patriotism for the state, adding that leadership of the coalition has given direction to the APC.

He said: “I wish to express my profound commendation to the leadership and membership of the Rainbow Coalition in Rivers State for the wisdom, foresight, and maturity displayed in arriving at this consensus.

“The process that produced Hon. O.K. Chinda as our standard-bearer is a testament to the coalition’s commitment to fielding only the most capable and experienced hands for the task of governing our beloved state.

“I wish to also express my unwavering loyalty to the Rainbow Coalition in Rivers State as ably and courageously led by the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Nyesom Wike.

“His visionary leadership of the coalition has given direction, structure, and purpose to the APC in Rivers State. I stand firmly behind his leadership, and I encourage all men and women of goodwill in our state to do the same.”

He, however, vowed to support Chinda all through the entire process of the election, even as he drummed up support for the reelection of President Bola Tinubu.
