Gabon striker Aubameyang departs Marseille to join Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna

Spanish club Deportivo La Coruna has secured the services of Gabon international striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on a contract that will run until 2028, as announced by the promoted La Liga side on Friday.
nAubameyang's departure from Marseille comes after he played 92 matches and scored 44 goals for the Ligue 1 club, despite having a year remaining on his contract.
nThe 37-year-old striker initially joined Marseille in the summer of 2023, and after a season at Saudi Arabia's Al-Qadsiah, he returned to the club in 2025.
nDeportivo La Coruna has praised Aubameyang's career, stating that it "demonstrates exceptional consistency at the highest level" in a statement released by the club.
nAubameyang has had a storied career, having played for prominent clubs such as Germany's Borussia Dortmund and English Premier League sides Arsenal and Chelsea.
nNotably, he spent six months at Spanish giants Barcelona four years ago, where he scored 13 goals in 24 matches.
nDeportivo La Coruna is set to return to La Liga after an eight-season absence from Spain's top flight.
