Fulham complete deal to bring in Gonzalo Garcia from Spanish giants Real Madrid

Gonzalo Garcia, a 22-year-old Spanish striker, has made a move from Real Madrid to Fulham, reuniting him with Alvaro Arbeloa, his former coach, as announced by both the Premier League club and the Spanish side on Monday.

This transfer follows Garcia's most productive season to date, during which he scored a total of eight goals for Madrid, with six of those goals being scored in La Liga.

A notable highlight from his time at Madrid was a hat-trick he scored against Real Betis in January, showcasing his skills on the field.

Garcia has committed to Fulham with a contract that will run until 2031, and the club has the option to extend this deal by an additional year if desired.

The transfer fee for Garcia's move has been reported by Spanish media to be in the vicinity of 40 million euros, equivalent to $46 million, with Madrid retaining a 30% sell-on clause as part of the agreement.

Earlier in the summer, Fulham appointed Alvaro Arbeloa as their head coach, marking a new chapter for the club under the Spaniard's leadership.

Arbeloa's previous experience includes working within Madrid's youth set-up before taking on the top job, a position he assumed after Xabi Alonso was let go in January.
