Four-Month Suspected Gas Leak Sparks Fear, Environmental Concerns in Bille Community, Rivers State

The signs suggest that it could be a gas leak, and it seems to be moving slowly toward the community. People are genuinely concerned because no one wants a disaster in our environment,” he said.rnrnHe further revealed that officials from the Nigeria Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) visited the area approximately three weeks ago following reports from the community. According to him, the team conducted preliminary assessments and collected samples from the affected location for laboratory analysis.rnrnHowever, Igila noted that since the visit, the community has not received any official feedback regarding the findings of the investigation.rnrn“We appreciate the fact that the regulatory authorities came to inspect the site and collected samples. But since then, we have not heard anything from them.
