Forces Strike Again, Eliminate Four Militants, Detain Several Others in Borno

Troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation HADIN KAI, have successfully eliminated four Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in a series of intense operations conducted across Borno State, as disclosed in a press statement signed by Lt. Col. Sani Uba, the Media Information Officer, on Friday.

The statement outlined the achievements of Operation DESERT SANITY V, a sustained offensive operation across the theatre, which has yielded significant successes in the ongoing counter-terrorism efforts, including the neutralisation of terrorists, arrest of suspects, and the surrender of a terrorist member.

In a joint operation with the Civilian Joint Task Force, troops of Operation HADIN KAI engaged terrorists moving from Yale towards the Sambisa Forest axis, resulting in the neutralisation of four terrorists and the recovery of one AK-47 rifle with ammunition, as well as food items suspected to be part of terrorist logistics supply.

The troops returned safely to base with no casualties, marking a successful operation that dealt a significant blow to the terrorist group's activities in the region.

Additionally, sustained aggressive operations conducted by multiple units across key routes, including Dambboa–Maiduguri, Dambboa–Gwoza, and the Goniri axis, have successfully denied terrorists freedom of movement and actions, restricting their ability to operate freely.

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI deployed at Kanama arrested two suspected terrorist collaborators during a stop-and-search operation, seizing items and materials, including clothing and personal effects, suspected to be linked to terrorist logistics support.

Preliminary investigations also revealed incriminating digital materials suggesting possible affiliation with terrorist elements, and the suspects are currently in custody for further investigation.

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI recorded the surrender of one suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP member at a checkpoint in Kukawa Local Government Area, who claimed to have been abducted earlier in the year and coerced into joining the terrorist group.

The individual is currently undergoing profiling and further investigation, as the Theatre Command reassures the public of its unwavering commitment to restoring lasting peace, security, and economic stability in the North East region.

The Command urges citizens to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies in the security and economic interest of the North East region, as the Military High Command commends the troops for their gallantry and resilience.
