Footballer Raheem Sterling detained on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs

Sterling Raheem Sterling, the 31-year-old former England winger, was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs after his vehicle collided with motorway barriers, according to a statement released by police on Saturday.

The incident occurred on the M3 motorway in Hampshire, southern England, on Thursday morning, where Sterling's Lamborghini crashed into barriers, prompting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Following his arrest, Sterling was released on bail as authorities continue their enquiries, with Hampshire Police revealing that the incident happened just before 9:00 am on Thursday, near the Minley Interchange.

No other vehicles were involved in the collision, and fortunately, no injuries were reported, with police stating that the driver, a 31-year-old man from Berkshire, was arrested on suspicion of multiple offenses, including driving whilst unfit through drugs and possession of a Class C drug.

Sterling, who has played for several prominent clubs, including Manchester City and Chelsea, has been struggling with immense psychological strain over the past couple of years, according to sources close to him, who described his emotional state as feeling "worthless" and "forgotten about".

These sources emphasized that Sterling's arrest was made under suspicion, and it is crucial to note that there is currently no proof of any substances in his system, as the investigation is ongoing.
