Footage: Adeboye Urges Federal Government to Replace Top Security Officials if Terror Attacks Persist Beyond 90-Day Mark

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, is calling on the federal government to set a 90-day deadline for Nigeria's security chiefs to eradicate terrorists nationwide, or face resignation.

This ultimatum was delivered in a video posted on X on Tuesday, where Adeboye voiced his deep concern over the country's precarious security situation and urged swift action against those perpetrating violence.

Adeboye emphasized that security chiefs must be held accountable for producing tangible results in the fight against terrorism, stressing the need for decisive action.

He suggested that the government should instruct security chiefs to eliminate terrorists within the given timeframe, saying "if I were to offer suggestions, I would advise our government to instruct our security chiefs to get rid of these terrorists within 90 days or resign).

The cleric further advocated for a more comprehensive approach, urging the government to target not only the terrorists themselves, but also those who finance and support their activities.

Adeboye recommended that when issuing orders to service chiefs, it should be made clear that their mandate extends beyond eliminating terrorists, to also targeting their sponsors, regardless of their influence.

Adeboye recalled a similar situation in the past where he had advised a former Nigerian president to issue an ultimatum to security chiefs, which although given, was not fully enforced after the deadline had elapsed.

This experience, according to Adeboye, highlights the need for a stronger political will and stricter enforcement of directives aimed at ending the pervasive insecurity.

Adeboye's comments come at a time when concerns over terrorist attacks, banditry, and kidnappings are resurfacing in various parts of the country, with growing demands for more effective measures to address the security challenges.
