A significant development occurred on Monday when Florida Governor Ron Desantis signed a bill aimed at renaming Palm Beach International Airport to the "President Donald J. Trump International Airport".

The renaming process, however, is not yet complete, as it requires approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the completion of rights agreements.

The FAA clarified its role in the process, stating that "Changing an airport name is a local issue and the FAA does not approve airport name changes".

Despite this, the FAA will need to undertake certain administrative tasks, including updating navigational charts and databases, as part of the name change process.

The airport in question is situated approximately two miles from Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort, a notable fact given the proposed name change.
