Federal agents apprehend Nigerian national on charges of child abuse and prior sexual offenses

A 53-year-old Nigerian national has been taken into custody by United States immigration authorities in Los Angeles due to his history of convictions for child molestation and other sexual offenses.

The arrest of Olatunde Olusanjo was announced by the Enforcement and Removal Operations office in Los Angeles on Friday through a post on its official X account, revealing that the suspect was apprehended on April 21.

According to the agency, Olusanjo has a record of previous arrests for crimes including child molestation, sexual battery, and soliciting lewd conduct, and he is currently being held in ICE custody as he awaits removal proceedings.

A video accompanying the announcement showed Olusanjo, handcuffed, being led from an ICE vehicle into custody, with a narrator identifying him as a Nigerian citizen and describing him as a "criminal illegal alien and convicted sex offender".

The narrator in the video clip provided further details about Olusanjo, stating that he was arrested by Los Angeles ICE on April 21, 2026, and highlighting his criminal record, which includes convictions for child molestation, sexual battery, and sexual solicitation.

As a result of his arrest, Olatunde Abiodun Olusanjo is being detained in ICE custody pending the outcome of his removal proceedings.
