FCT Police Chief Pledges to Take Tough Stance Against Criminal Activity

ABUJA — The newly appointed Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, has vowed a firm crackdown on criminal activities, pledging zero tolerance for crime under his leadership.

Speaking at his inaugural press briefing, Sanusi expressed gratitude to Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, for entrusting him with the role and described the appointment as a mark of confidence in his abilities.

He assured residents that he would build on the achievements of his predecessor while introducing proactive strategies to strengthen the FCT’s security framework. “Our approach will be intelligence-driven and professional, focused not only on responding to crime but preventing it before it occurs,” Sanusi said.

The Commissioner warned that the Command would be relentless in identifying and apprehending criminal elements across the territory. He also directed officers to uphold discipline, maintain civility in public interactions, and demonstrate the highest standards in the discharge of their duties.

In a stern message to criminals, Sanusi said, “Those engaged in unlawful activities must desist immediately or leave the FCT, or face decisive legal consequences.”

He called on residents to support law enforcement efforts, stressing that security is a shared responsibility. Sanusi also reiterated his commitment to an open-door policy, encouraging the public to provide information and collaborate with the Police in maintaining safety.

The FCT Police Command under his leadership aims to protect lives and property while fostering a secure and conducive environment for all residents.
