Exceptional artistic minds often go unnoticed, says Miracle Vincent

According to Miracle Vincent, CEO of Buzz Africa, the entertainment industry now demands more than just talent to achieve visibility and sustain relevance, with perception management becoming a crucial factor in success. Vincent emphasized this point in a recent interview with Potpourri, highlighting the disparity between highly talented creatives who remain unnoticed and their less skilled counterparts who enjoy constant demand.
nVincent attributed this imbalance to what he termed "perception control," rather than a lack of talent, stating that many highly skilled creatives are overlooked while less talented ones are consistently in demand. He noted that some of the most talented creatives are "invisible" while less talented ones are always in demand, emphasizing that the issue lies not with talent, but with perception control.
nVincent explained that creatives who achieve long-term relevance often owe their success to strategic positioning through a combination of public relations and consistent social media presence. This strategic positioning helps creatives stay relevant in the long term, according to Vincent.
nHe stressed that public relations plays a key role in shaping initial perception by placing creatives in credible spaces, such as interviews, features, and media mentions, which establish authority before audiences experience their work. Vincent noted that PR helps create the impression that a creative is important, even before their work is experienced.
nVincent explained that social media serves a complementary purpose by reinforcing identity through repetition and consistency, rather than random content posting, and that it helps keep creatives "alive" in the minds of their audience. He emphasized the importance of a structured social media presence, saying that it builds familiarity and credibility.
nVincent summarized the relationship between PR, social media, and credibility, saying that one builds credibility, the other builds familiarity, and together, they build memory. He highlighted the importance of a well-planned online presence in achieving long-term success.
nVincent warned that many creatives fail because they focus on attention without structured positioning, and that virality without strategy often leads to short-lived relevance. He cautioned that attention without a clear plan is fleeting and easily forgotten.
nVincent illustrated this point by saying that attention without positioning is "forgettable noise," and that this is why some creatives achieve virality but disappear, while others become brands that people cannot ignore. He emphasized the importance of a well-thought-out strategy in achieving lasting success.
