Gawuna

The 2023 gubernatorial flag bearer of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, has dumped the party.
Gawuna, who was deputy to ex-governor Abdullahi Ganduje, announced his resignation from the party in a letter addressed to the APC chairman in Gawuna Ward, Nassarawa Local Government Area of Kano State.
He said his decision to leave the party was “voluntary and personal.”
“I hereby formally resign my membership from the All Progressives Congress (APC), effective March 29, 2026,” the letter read in part.
Credible sources hinted that with this development, Gawuna is said to be warming up to join the strongman of Kano politics, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, in the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
In a post on the Facebook handle, a media aide to Kwankwaso, Saifullahi Hassan, posted pictures of the duo exchanging pleasantries.
The Facebook post reads, “Former APC governorship candidate, Dr. Yusuf Gawuna, paid a respectful homage visit to HE Sen Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso today (30/3/2026), at his residence on Miller Road, Kano State tonight.”
