On Saturday, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State became emotional, shedding tears as he sought forgiveness from any individuals or stakeholders who may have been offended during his administration.

This poignant moment occurred during a meeting of key stakeholders from the All Progressives Congress, APC, held at the government house in Maiduguri.

The state's APC leaders reaffirmed their support for President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima's joint ticket, endorsing them for a second term in office.

The motion to endorse the Tinubu/Kashim ticket was moved by the APC National Vice Chairman, North, Hon Ali Bukar Dalori, and was met with overwhelming support from party loyalists, who seconded it with thunderous voices.

The hall erupted in a chorus of "Ayes" as the motion was put to a voice vote, with the crowd enthusiastically supporting the joint ticket.

Speaking at the event, Governor Zulum emphasized that Nigeria has no better option than to support the Tinubu/Kashim ticket for a second term, citing the need for unity and peace throughout the election process.

Zulum advised stakeholders to prioritize these values, adding that power is bestowed by God, and that regardless of personal feelings, if God wills it, an individual will attain power.

The governor urged stakeholders to remain committed to democratic ideals and mobilize supporters to elect the APC en masse, echoing a call made by party chairman Hon. Bello Ayuba.

Zulum also took the opportunity to ask several key stakeholders, including his Deputy, Umar Kadafur, Senator Mohammed Ndume, and Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari, if he had treated them fairly during his seven-year tenure.

The stakeholders, including APC Deputy National Chairman North, Ali Bukar Dalori, unanimously agreed that the governor had done justice to all Borno people.

According to the state chairman of APC, Bello Ayuba, the developmental projects implemented by Governor Zulum have made it easier to campaign and attract supporters from other parties to the APC.

Ayuba noted that a large number of individuals from other parties are awaiting formal acceptance into the APC, further bolstering the party's support base.
