Ekiti State APC: Bamidele, Fasuyi, and Adaramodu secure party nominations for senate seats

The All Progressives Congress (APC) wrapped up its senatorial primary elections across Ekiti State's three senatorial districts on Monday, yielding Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, Senator Cyril Fasuyi, and Senator Yemi Adaramodu as the party's candidates for the 2027 general elections.
nThese elections, which took place on May 18, 2026, saw the chairman of the senatorial primary election committee, Asipa Wasiu, officially declare the results.
nIn the Ekiti Central Senatorial District, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele emerged as the party's unopposed candidate, garnering 29,586 valid votes.
nA highly contested primary in the Ekiti North Senatorial District ended with incumbent Senator Cyril Fasuyi securing the APC ticket, defeating former Senator Ayo Arise and two other aspirants.
nSenator Fasuyi polled 14,179 votes, while Senator Ayo Arise scored 4,868 votes, Bamisaye Oladipupo garnered 3,694 votes, and Oluwadare Owolabi secured 2,836 votes.
nIn the Ekiti South Senatorial District, Senator Yemi Adaramodu clinched the APC senatorial ticket with 12,200 votes in the primary election.
nHis closest challenger, former Senate Minority Leader Biodun Olujimi, scored 7,420 votes, and another aspirant, Bamidele Faparusi, received 5,502 votes.
nAsipa Wasiu Adedoyin, Chairman of the Senatorial Primary Election Committee, certified the results, stating that the winners had satisfied the APC Constitution and Guidelines and scored the highest number of valid votes in their respective districts.
nSpecifically, he declared Senator Opeyemi Bamidele the winner in Ekiti Central Senatorial District, Senator Cyril Fasuyi in Ekiti North Senatorial District, and Senator Yemi Adaramodu in Ekiti South Senatorial District.
