Eid-il-Fitr: Fire Service Forbids Leave for Firefighters

The Federal Capital Territory Command of the Federal Fire Service has issued a high alert to its personnel, implementing a "no holiday" policy to guarantee the security of lives and property during the Eid-il-Fitr celebrations.

This directive was communicated through a statement released on Thursday by the Command's Public Relations Officer, SF Anyam Barnabas, highlighting the importance of the Federal Fire Service's constant readiness.

Controller of the FCT Command, Mohammed Suleiman Anas, stressed that the Federal Fire Service remains fully operational at all times, including public holidays, as it provides essential services to the community.

During a pre-festive briefing with station commanders, Controller Anas instructed them to ensure that all personnel are present and that fire trucks and rescue equipment are in optimal condition for swift response to emergencies.

Anas emphasized that the Federal Fire Service is always on call, 24 hours a day, to address emergencies throughout the Federal Capital Territory, as its mandate requires constant preparedness.

He stated, "The Service provides essential services and, therefore, does not go on holidays," underscoring the command's ability to respond to emergencies anywhere in the Federal Capital Territory.

As the Muslim faithful conclude Ramadan, Controller Anas extended his congratulations, while also warning that festive periods often see an increase in activities that can trigger fires.

Anas advised residents to be vigilant about safety and adhere to basic fire safety guidelines, such as switching off electrical equipment when leaving home, not leaving cooking unattended, and avoiding fireworks.
