Dr. Otuaro Calls on Nigerians to Celebrate 65 Years of Resilience, Renew Hope in President Tinubu’s

On the historic occasion of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, I, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), extend heartfelt congratulations to the Government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. This day is not just a marker of our freedom from colonial rule, but a symbol of our shared resilience, unity, and hope as a people committed to building a greater future.

Since 1960, Nigeria has navigated a path defined by both challenges and triumphs. From the legacies of colonialism and military interventions to the civil war, political instability, economic downturns, and struggles of nation-building, our endurance as a people has been tested. Yet, through it all, we have remained one indivisible nation, sustained by the shared aspiration for peace, justice, and progress.

At 65, we cannot ignore the realities of our present moment. Nigeria continues to confront serious socio-economic and security challenges—rising living costs, infrastructural gaps, and the demand for stronger national cohesion. But even within these challenges lies an opportunity for renewal. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration has articulated a bold and clear vision through the Renewed Hope Agenda, which seeks to reposition our nation on the path of inclusive development, sustainable growth, and enduring stability.

These reforms, though demanding patience and sacrifice, are necessary to reset our economy and governance structures. The discomforts of today are not an end in themselves but a price we must pay for the greater reward of tomorrow. It is at this turning point that I urge Nigerians to remain calm, resilient, and hopeful—understanding that the sacrifices we make today will yield the dividends of a stronger and more prosperous nation.

Nation-building has never been the work of government alone. It is a shared responsibility that requires citizens to rise in unity, dialogue, and patriotism. Every Nigerian must play their part in supporting reforms, embracing peace, and championing values of accountability and innovation. By working together, we strengthen the foundation upon which the Nigeria of our dreams can stand.

As Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, I reaffirm our unwavering commitment to peace and development in the Niger Delta, ensuring that ex-agitators and beneficiaries are empowered to contribute meaningfully to national progress. In fulfilling this mandate, PAP aligns fully with the Renewed Hope Agenda, recognizing that regional peace and empowerment are essential to national prosperity.

As we celebrate 65 years of independence, let us see this anniversary not just as a celebration of the past, but as a call to rededicate ourselves to the promise of the future. Let us stand together in unity, patience, and faith, confident that the Nigeria of our dreams is within reach.

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. God bless President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Administration. God bless our resilient people.

Issued by the Dr. Otuaro Volunteer Media Team, through its Coordinator, Gen. Inko Brightstar (Whoknows Tomorrow)
