Dozens of former Boko Haram militants, vigilantes, and military personnel slain in Borno village raid

A military base in Mandaragirau Village, located in the Biu local government area of Borno state, came under attack by armed Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists, resulting in the deaths of an unspecified number of repentant Boko Haram members who were collaborating with the military, including the Civilian Joint Task Force and soldiers.

The attack, which occurred at approximately 4:am on Friday amidst heavy rainfall, also left numerous insurgents dead and injured, according to sources.

Mandaragirau, situated on the outskirts of Biu, along the Biu-Damboa-Maiduguri route, which has been closed to motorists for several years due to safety concerns, has recently experienced a series of deadly attacks.

A resident of Biu, Mallam Usman Yahaya, reported witnessing multiple military ambulances transporting the dead and injured to Biu town for medical attention.

Another source revealed that at least 20 people, mostly repentant terrorists and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, were killed, and at least eight soldiers also lost their lives in the attack.
