Donald Trump misses his son's nuptials amid ongoing Iranian diplomatic negotiations

US President Donald Trump has confirmed that he will not attend his son's wedding, citing circumstances related to government as the reason for his absence, with the event scheduled to take place in the Bahamas this weekend.
nTrump's decision comes after he previously mentioned that the timing was not ideal due to the Iran war, and he has now emphasized his commitment to staying in Washington, D.C., in a message posted on his Truth Social network.
nIn his message, Trump expressed his regret at missing the wedding of his son, Donald Trump Jr, to Bettina Anderson, stating that his love for the United States and circumstances pertaining to government prevented him from attending.
nTrump also took the opportunity to congratulate the newlywed couple, wishing them well as they begin their life together, while reiterating the importance of his presence in Washington, D.C., at this time.
nThe White House has since announced a change in Trump's travel plans, with the president no longer scheduled to visit his golf resort in New Jersey and instead remaining in the US capital over the weekend.
nAlthough Trump did not provide a specific reason for deeming this period "important", it coincides with a critical juncture in talks aimed at ending the Middle East war, with Iran currently reviewing a new US proposal.
nThe army chief of Pakistan, who is acting as a mediator, is set to travel to Tehran, while tensions between the United States and Cuba are escalating, with the US recently indicting former Cuban president Raul Castro.
nIn a show of increased pressure on Cuba, the US has dispatched an aircraft carrier and accompanying warships to the Caribbean, further heightening tensions in the region.
