Digital security company becomes part of international group setting standards for transaction protection

Smartcomply, a leading African cybersecurity and compliance technology company, has become a new Associate Participating Organization of the PCI Security Standards Council, marking a significant milestone in its mission to support financial institutions in automating regulatory compliance, fraud monitoring, and risk management.
nThis move positions Smartcomply as one of the first Nigerian companies in the cybersecurity and compliance technology sector to formally contribute to the development of the world's most influential payment data security standards.
nThe PCI Security Standards Council is a global, cross-industry body that aims to enhance payment security by providing flexible, industry-driven, and effective data security standards, bringing together over 700 Participating Organizations from more than 60 countries.
nThese organizations include the world's largest payment networks, financial institutions, and technology providers, and Smartcomply's membership serves to extend the African voice within this global community.
nSmartcomply's flagship platforms, Adhere and Seequre, cater to the needs of more than 100 financial institutions across the continent, offering solutions for AML, KYC, fraud detection, GRC, and cybersecurity automation.
nEarlier this year, Smartcomply was named a verified member of the Mastercard Engage Partner Program, and the company has also recently expanded its operations into the United Kingdom.
nCommenting on this development, Smartcomply's Chief Executive Officer, Gbemisola Osunrinde, stated that joining the PCI Security Standards Council is a crucial milestone for the company as it continues to build secure and scalable compliance infrastructure for financial institutions across emerging and global markets.
nOsunrinde emphasized that collaboration around payment security standards is becoming increasingly critical as digital payments continue to grow, and expressed excitement about contributing to the future of secure payment ecosystems while helping businesses across Africa strengthen trust, compliance, and fraud prevention.
nGina Gobeyn, Executive Director of the PCI Security Standards Council, noted that in an era of increasingly sophisticated attacks on systems, PCI Security Standards and resources play a vital role in helping organizations secure payment data and prevent, detect, and mitigate attacks that can lead to costly data breaches.
nBy joining as an Associate Participating Organization, Gobeyn said that Smartcomply has the opportunity to actively contribute to improving payment security globally by driving awareness and adoption of PCI Security Standards.
