Dickson urges Nigerians to disregard misinformation, citing NDC's revised submission

Dickson, the former Bayelsa State Governor, has called on Nigerians to dismiss the propaganda surrounding the National Democratic Congress, emphasizing that the party's registration process has a well-documented history.

He made this clarification in a statement posted on his X handle on Monday, where he also expressed confidence in the growing support for the party across the country, citing a convergence of political actors with strong grassroots influence and experience.

The NDC has been gaining traction, according to Dickson, due to the collaboration of political actors working together to build a national platform, with the goal of creating an ideological political movement that will outlive its founders and become institutionally stable over time.

Dickson stated that the party's objective is to build an ideological political party that can endure beyond its founders for generations to come, comparable to long-standing political institutions globally in structure and stability.

The NDC prioritizes youth and women participation, with a focus on mentorship, inclusion, and public service, according to Dickson, who described the party as a platform that prioritizes these values.

The party's formation process began in 2017, with initial approval reportedly granted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) before it was halted, and when party registration resumed last year, the organizers revisited and updated their earlier application to reflect current requirements.

Dickson noted that supporting records, including preparatory materials from 2017, form part of the party's documented history, and he urged supporters and Nigerians to remain focused despite the expected criticism and misinformation.

With his experience in politics, Dickson acknowledged that ambitious projects like the NDC often attract distractions, rumors, gossip, propaganda, and blackmail, and he urged Nigerians to ignore such propaganda about the NDC or its leaders.

Dickson called on Nigerians to join the party, register, and participate in the political process, saying the platform is open to all citizens interested in contesting elections and contributing to national development, with the goal of reclaiming and rebuilding the country.

He expressed gratitude to Nigerians across the country for their growing support and confidence in the NDC, and he highlighted the powerful convergence of political heavyweights with immense grassroots support and experience coming together under one platform.

Dickson reiterated that the NDC's goal is to build an ideological political party comparable to established parties like the ANC in South Africa, and parties in Europe, America, India, and China, in terms of stability, structure, and ability to endure beyond its founders.

The party is designed to serve the people, not just the powerful, but also the ordinary and vulnerable, with a special place for young people and women, and a focus on mentorship and preparing citizens for service, according to Dickson.

He provided evidence of the party's registration process, including a Google search conducted on February 3, 2017, and he urged Nigerians to remain focused on the bigger picture and ignore propaganda about the NDC or its leaders.
