Development: Electoral Commission announces Adeleke as victor in Osun state gubernatorial poll
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has formally announced Ademola Adeleke, the incumbent governor of Osun State and Accord Party candidate, as the winner of the state's governorship election, garnering 511,067 votes in the process.
nAdeleke's vote tally surpassed that of his nearest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who secured 444,815 votes, thereby emerging as the runner-up in the election.
nThe official declaration of the result was made by Prof Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, the returning officer, on Sunday, following the completion of the collation of votes across all 30 local government areas of the state.
nThe African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, trailed behind with 17,180 votes, ultimately finishing in the third position in the governorship election.
