Desmond Elliot Picks Up Nomination Papers, Eyes Re-election to Lagos State House

Desmond Olushola Elliot, the representative for Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, has declared his intention to run for re-election in the upcoming legislative election, driven by his passion for public service and a desire to build on the progress made in his constituency.
nElliot made the announcement on his Facebook page on Sunday, revealing that he has secured his nomination form to contest for another term, a move that stems from his commitment to serving the public and driving development in Surulere Constituency I.
nAccording to Elliot, his re-election would grant him ranking member status in the House, which would in turn bring numerous benefits to his constituency, as he noted that this position would automatically yield significant advantages for Surulere Constituency I.
nHe stated that becoming a ranking member would "make me automatically a ranking member and loads of benefits come to our constituency as a result of this feat," highlighting the value of his continued leadership.
nElliot expressed gratitude to various groups, including party leaders, ward executives, community leaders, youth groups, women associations, and stakeholders, for their unwavering support throughout his political career, acknowledging the crucial role their encouragement has played in his journey.
nHe urged his supporters to remain composed and focused, emphasizing the importance of upholding peace, unity, and respect throughout the electoral process, and expressed confidence that the collective spirit of his supporters would continue to guide them.
nElliot reiterated that his primary focus remains the development of Surulere and making meaningful contributions to the growth of Lagos State, underscoring his commitment to the well-being and progress of his constituency and the state at large.
