The Defence Headquarters has released a statement expressing sorrow over the death of Major General Rabe Abubakar, a former Director of Defence Information, who was abducted and later lost his life in captivity. This announcement comes on the heels of the news of his abduction, which was made public by the former Director of Defence Information, Major General Rabe Abubakar, himself.

The statement, signed by Major General Samaila Uba, Director of Defence Information, conveys the deepest sympathies of the Armed Forces of Nigeria to the Abubakar family, his colleagues, and all Nigerians, following the tragic loss of the senior officer.

Major General Rabe Abubakar had a distinguished career, serving the nation with distinction and holding various appointments, including spokesperson for different military formations and Director of Defence Information for the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
