Confessed Murderer of Imo Nursing Student Admits to Rape Before Fatal Decapitation

Governor Uzodimma of Imo State was not directly involved in the recent events, but youths from Umuadara, Umulogho in Obowo Local Government Area of Imo State, took matters into their own hands, apprehending one of the suspected killers of Wendy Achumba, a student of College of Nursing, Obowo.

A community source disclosed that the youth leader, Chidiebere Iweajunwa, spearheaded the operation, which was the culmination of a thorough investigation into the heinous crime.

The suspect, identified as Onyema Okonkwo, had previously confessed to the crime in a widely circulated video interview, providing a disturbing account of the events that transpired.

According to Okonkwo, he and an accomplice, Emmanuel, stormed the student's apartment at approximately 7 p.m. and took turns raping Achumba, who was living alone in the building after her two neighbors had departed for nursing experience.

The circumstances surrounding Achumba's living situation were revealed by the source, who explained that the owner of the house was based in America, and Achumba was the only occupant remaining in the compound after her two fellow students left for their nursing experience.

Okonkwo's narrative revealed that the student had rejected their advances for sexual affairs, prompting them to invade her residence, with devastating consequences.

The suspect's account of the events was nothing short of horrific, with Okonkwo admitting to hitting the student with a stick before Emmanuel allegedly put a knife to her throat after multiple rounds of forced sex.

Okonkwo's justification for the crime was that the student had refused their demands for sex, leading them to commit the heinous act, with Okonkwo claiming he had sex with her twice, while Emmanuel had sex with her once.

After the crime, Okonkwo claimed he hit the student with a stick, but was unaware that Emmanuel had returned with a knife to kill her, a claim that has sent shockwaves through the community.
