Comedian Broda Shaggi receives medical treatment following reported gunfire incident

Samuel Perry, a popular comedian and skit maker known as Broda Shaggi, has been hospitalized after suffering a gunshot injury in the Sango-Ota area of Ota, Ogun state, according to reports.

The incident allegedly occurred under the Sango-Ota bridge on Sunday afternoon, with details surrounding the shooting still unclear, as reported by The Punch.

A police source, speaking anonymously, revealed that Broda Shaggi sustained the gunshot injury while filming a comedy skit at the location, and was immediately taken to the Blooming Care Hospital in Alakuko, Lagos State, for initial treatment.

The source stated that Broda Shaggi was shooting a skit under the Sango-Ota bridge when he was injured, with his crew members quickly rushing him to the hospital, where medical personnel administered first aid upon arrival.

Further investigation revealed that Broda Shaggi was later referred to Duchess Hospital in the Government Residential Area, Ikeja, where he is currently recovering, as reported by the aforementioned publication.

Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed on Thursday that the hospital had alerted the police about the case, and detectives and a patrol team were immediately sent to the hospital.

Upon arrival, the police found Broda Shaggi on a stretcher with a thigh injury, and although the incident occurred outside their jurisdiction in Sango-Ota, the investigation is ongoing, according to Adebisi.

Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, stated that the incident had not been officially reported to the command, saying the incident was alleged to have occurred in Ogun State but was not reported.
