City Boy Movement uplifts 1,000 female residents in FCT, endorses Tinubu for second term

In the Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, a notable empowerment programme was recently conducted by the Women Wing of the City Boy Movement, benefiting no less than 1,000 women and reaffirming the group's support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election.

The programme, orchestrated by the FCT Chapter of the City Boy Movement Women Wing, aimed to bolster economic activities among women, while also promoting grassroots mobilization and community participation in governance, under the guidance of the Office of the National Coordinator for Women Affairs.

During the event, Hon. Ummusalma Rabiu, the National Coordinator for Women Affairs of the Women Wing, emphasized the significance of women empowerment as a vital tool for sustainable national development, poverty reduction, and economic growth, highlighting women's crucial role in grassroots mobilization and national development.

Rabiu noted that women remain key stakeholders in voter education, democratic participation, and national development, underscoring the importance of their involvement in shaping the nation's future.

According to Dr. Ene Adugba, the FCT Women Affairs Coordinator, the empowerment programme was designed to provide economic support to vulnerable and enterprising women, while also raising awareness about the policies and achievements of President Tinubu's administration under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Adugba stated that despite prevailing socio-economic challenges, the administration has continued to implement reforms and strategic interventions aimed at repositioning the nation's economy.

The National Principal Secretary of the Women Wing highlighted the administration's demonstration of political will through reforms targeted at economic stabilization, infrastructure development, and social intervention programmes, among others.

The group also cited the administration's achievements, including increased investments in infrastructure and transportation, expanded student loan programmes, support for agriculture, and improved security coordination.

Beneficiaries of the empowerment programme received items and support packages to strengthen their small businesses, improve household income, and encourage self-reliance.

The FCT Women Wing Coordinator, Ene Adugba, reaffirmed the group's commitment to mobilizing support for President Tinubu's re-election, emphasizing the need for continuity in governance and sustained implementation of ongoing reforms.

According to the group, continuity in governance would help consolidate gains already recorded in critical sectors such as infrastructure, security, agriculture, education, youth development, and economic revitalization.

The organization called on women, youths, and other stakeholders to support initiatives that promote peace, unity, democratic participation, and national development, underscoring the importance of collective effort in shaping the nation's future.
