Churchill denies marital status with Rosy Meurer amid separation claims

Businessman Olakunle Churchill has categorically denied reports of a divorce from actress Rosy Meurer, emphasizing that their relationship was never formalized through a legally recognized marriage.

Churchill made this assertion in a detailed statement posted on his Instagram page on Wednesday, where he also described the claims as false and misleading, urging the public to disregard them.

According to Churchill, his relationship with Rosy Meurer only involved an introduction ceremony, with no court or church wedding taking place, rendering the idea of a divorce baseless.

He stated, “The reports circulating online about a supposed divorce between myself and Roseline Meurer are completely false, and there is no truth to them, as there was no legally recognized marriage, no church wedding, and no court wedding, only an introduction.”

Churchill also expressed skepticism about reports of ongoing legal proceedings, citing that he was never formally served any court documents, which raises concerns about the due process being followed.

Furthermore, he criticized the dissemination of what he termed as inaccurate legal claims, suggesting that proper procedures were not adhered to in presenting such information to the public.

Churchill noted, “I am 100% sure that individuals without proper experience in the media space are advising Rosy incorrectly, alongside legal practitioners who operate under a mango tree without due process and claim to produce divorce documents within 24 hours.”

He questioned the feasibility of the alleged hearing and judgment dates, asking, “Is this even possible in Nigeria?”

Churchill also touched on past public controversies involving his former marriage to actress Tonto Dikeh, stating that issues from that relationship were personal and had since been resolved between the parties involved.

He revealed that he had reconciled with Tonto Dikeh, believing she is now “in a better place,” and emphasized that external parties were not responsible for resolving private marital disputes.

Churchill said, “If Tonto offended anyone, it should be me alone, and if I offended anyone, it should be Tonto, however, we have both chosen to forgive each other.”

He addressed perceptions surrounding Rosy Meurer’s public role in his life, disagreeing with narratives that exaggerated her involvement or positioning in his personal matters.

Churchill stated, “I do not agree with the narrative that Rosy “stood by me” in a way that should now be exaggerated, and while I acknowledge that she faced public criticism, it is essential to note that if she had not been there, someone else would have occupied that position in my life.”

His statement comes amid renewed public attention after Rosy Meurer recently posted a video on Instagram reintroducing herself without Churchill’s surname or a wedding ring, describing her return to the public eye as a “rebirth” and new phase in her career.
