Chief Inko Calls on Gov. Diri to Dissolve Cabinet, Accommodate Old APC MembersrnrnA prominent Niger Delta activist and stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Inko Brightstar, popularly known as “Whoknows Tomorrow,” has called on the Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency Senator Douye Diri, to urgently dissolve his cabinet and make fresh appointments.rnrnChief Inko made this call following a series of complaints from long-standing APC members who claim they have been sidelined despite their years of sacrifice, commitment, and contributions to the growth of the party before the governor and his loyalists defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).rnrnAccording to him, Governor Diri, who was once a strong critic target under the APC, appears to have joined the party with the intention of taking over its structure while allegedly marginalizing original members. He expressed concern that since the governor’s defection, the situation within the party has not improved, but rather worsened.rnrnHe further lamented that, up to this moment, no meaningful appointments have been given to core APC members in the state. He stressed that it is only proper and politically wise for the governor, having defected into the APC, to dissolve his current cabinet—largely composed of former PDP loyalists—and reconstitute it to reflect the inclusion of longstanding APC members.rnrnChief Inko warned that the continued neglect of these members could lead to mass defection, as many aggrieved party faithful are already considering leaving the APC due to the current situation.rnrnHe also used the opportunity to call on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to urgently intervene. According to him, failure to address the growing discontent within the party could negatively impact the APC’s chances in future elections.rnrn“A house divided against itself cannot stand,” he emphasized, adding that the strength of the APC in Bayelsa lies with the original members who built the party structure over the years. Without their support, securing massive electoral victory in the state would be a difficult task.
