Chief Inko Brightstar Hails Security Operatives on Rescue of Justice Omukoro
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State, Chief Inko Brightstar, has lauded the nation's security agencies for the successful and heroic rescue of the kidnapped High Court Judge, Justice Ebiyerin Omukoro. Justice Omukoro was liberated on the evening of Thursday, July 3, 2025, after a harrowing 12-day ordeal at the hands of his abductors.
Chief Brightstar, who also serves as the Financial Secretary of APC Silga Ward 13, expressed his profound relief and heartfelt gratitude to the combined team of security operatives whose tireless efforts culminated in the safe return of the esteemed judge.
"The news of Justice Omukoro's abduction on June 21st was met with widespread condemnation and palpable anxiety across the state. It was a dastardly act that struck at the very heart of our judiciary and, by extension, the rule of law," stated Chief Brightstar, popularly known as "Whoknows Tomorrow."
He added, "The successful rescue operation, reportedly executed without the payment of ransom, is a testament to the courage, professionalism, and unwavering dedication of our security personnel. I wish to particularly commend the Nigerian Police Force, especially the Commander of Operation Puff Adder, CSP Chris Nwaogbo, and the Department of State Services (DSS) for their brilliant and coordinated efforts. They have demonstrated that with synergy and a common purpose, no criminal element is beyond the reach of the law."
The APC chieftain noted that the abduction of a high-ranking judicial officer was a grave security breach that sent a chilling message to the residents of Bayelsa. However, the triumphant outcome of the rescue mission has not only reunited a husband and father with his family but has also restored a significant measure of public confidence in our security architecture.
"While we celebrate this significant victory against the purveyors of chaos and criminality, it is also a moment for sober reflection. We must collectively and continuously work towards creating a Bayelsa where every citizen, from the highest office to the common man, can live and move freely without fear," Chief Brightstar remarked.
He called for sustained government support for the security agencies, including the provision of modern equipment and enhanced welfare, to further bolster their capacity to prevent and respond to such heinous crimes. He also urged citizens to remain vigilant and proactive in collaborating with law enforcement by providing timely and credible information.
"On behalf of the leadership and members of the All Progressives Congress in Silga Ward 13, and as a concerned son of Bayelsa, I extend my sincere sympathies to Justice Ebiyerin Omukoro and his family for the trauma they have endured. We wish him a speedy and full recovery from this dreadful experience. May this successful rescue serve as a stern warning to all criminal elements that Bayelsa State will never be a haven for their nefarious activities," he concluded.
