Chaos erupts after decapitated corpse is found within University of Jos premises

Terror seized the University of Jos community on Tuesday, as a gruesome discovery was made on farmland within the institution, with the beheaded body of a middle-aged man found, sparking widespread fear among students, staff, and residents, according to reports by Golok Nanmwa, Jos.

The identity of the deceased remained unconfirmed at the time of reporting, with the head of the victim severed and missing, leaving the university community in a state of panic.

A 300-level student, Pius Atok, revealed to Vanguard that the body was discovered on a farm within the university community, with the victim neither being a student nor a staff member of the institution.

Atok further disclosed that the body was found on the farm that morning, and based on information gathered, the victim was not affiliated with the university.

A senior university official, speaking anonymously, confirmed the incident, stating that preliminary findings suggested the deceased was a farmer who regularly cultivated crops on the farmland where his body was found.

The official explained that the victim was known to locals, as he frequently farmed in the area, and it is believed that he arrived at the farm early that morning, as was his usual practice.

The nature of the attack suggested that the perpetrators intentionally targeted the victim, killing him and taking his head, although the exact circumstances surrounding the incident remained unclear.

According to the official, the victim's relatives had been notified, and arrangements were being made to evacuate the body, while the university management was aware of the incident and would issue an official statement to the university community and the media.
