B.Sc. Degree Accomplished: From Armed Struggle to Intellectual Struggle!

With immense gratitude and a heart overflowing with thanksgiving, I, Chief Gen. Inko Brightstar, a.k.a. Whoknows Tomorrow—a proud son of the Ijaw Nation and a foremost Niger Delta ex-agitator and activist—formally announce the successful completion of my Bachelor of Science degree.rnrnI dedicate this milestone to the Creator of the Universe and the revered gods of Ijaw land, whose divine guidance and protection sustained me through a long and demanding journey.rnrnrnCommunity Power Tussle and DistractionsrnrnFrom my first year to the first semester of year three, my academic focus was often disrupted by multiple police and court cases, orchestrated by corrupt individuals in my community—individuals who had been embezzling community resources, and whose activities I challenged after emerging as CDC Chairman.rnrnDespite these deliberate distractions meant to wear me out and silence me, I stood firm in defense of truth and justice. The struggle for transparency at the community level became an added burden on my academic path—but I endured.rnrnA Journey Marked by Trials and TriumphsrnrnThis four-year academic pursuit was far from easy. Studying in an environment with strict movement restrictions posed serious challenges. There were numerous occasions when I couldn’t attend to urgent family matters or participate in political obligations due to the rigorous clearance processes required to leave campus.rnrnThere were also times my sponsors considered withdrawing the scholarship simply because I chose to speak truth to power. I was betrayed by friends, some of whom even attempted to frame me in ways that could have permanently ended my academic journey. But by God’s special grace, I remained focused and undeterred.rnrnThis is the third university I have attended—and I vowed that, no matter the challenges that comes my way, I would break every yoke and graduate. Today, that vow has become a reality. While some who worked against me are still battling with carryovers, I have crossed the finish line with dignity. My story is a testimony of faith, resilience, perseverance, and divine favour.rnrnAppreciationrnrnTo my world number one mummy, I am eternally grateful. Thank you for standing by me, praying for me, and believing in me—even during the dangerous days of armed resistance against the Nigerian state. My stubbornness cost you much. People mocked you, saying your son would die in the struggle—yet you never turned your back on me. May God preserve your life to reap the full fruit of your labour.
