British actor Noel Clarke charged with sexual offences against five women

British actor Noel Clarke has been charged with sexual offences including sexual assault, voyeurism and exposure in connection with allegations involving five women.

According to the BBC, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) authorised the Metropolitan Police to charge the 50-year-old Doctor Who and Kidulthood star on Wednesday following an investigation that began a year ago.

Clarke, who is from Kensington, west London, faces two counts of sexual assault, three counts of voyeurism and one count of exposure. The alleged offences are said to have taken place between 2007 and 2016 and relate to five women.

Clarke has not publicly responded to the charges.

In a statement, the CPS said its prosecutors had established that there was sufficient evidence to bring the case to court and that doing so was in the public interest.

The investigation began after a man, then in his 40s, was arrested on 25 September 2025. A file of evidence was subsequently submitted to the CPS, which authorised the charges.

Clarke is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on October 21 at 10:00 BST.

Detective Superintendent Mike Cagney, who is leading the investigation, said the women connected to the charges were receiving support from specially trained officers.

He also urged anyone who had been a victim of sexual assault to contact the police, assuring potential victims that information would be handled sensitively.

Clarke rose to fame playing Mickey Smith in Doctor Who between 2005 and 2010. He later established himself as an actor, writer, producer and director.
