Borno violence: No reason can excuse the murder of harmless civilians, says Shettima

Vice President Kashim Shettima has once again denounced the masterminds of the multiple terror attacks in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, as utterly barbaric, emphasizing that no rationale can vindicate the slaughter of innocent lives.

The Vice President reaffirmed the Federal Government's unwavering commitment to vanquish terrorism, asserting that those responsible for the recent onslaughts in the country will be dealt with decisively.

During his visit to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital on Wednesday, where victims of the bomb blast are receiving medical attention, Senator Shettima observed that the Federal Government is bolstering its anti-terrorism campaign by investing in state-of-the-art equipment and logistics.

He vehemently condemned the gruesome multiple explosions that rocked Maiduguri on Monday, which affected over 100 people and claimed the lives of more than 20, describing the perpetrators as barbaric and reiterating that no cause can justify the killing of innocent people.

Shettima's visit was aimed at offering solace to the injured and the families afflicted by the tragedy, assuring them of the government's support through the National Emergency Management Agency, the North East Development Commission, and the Borno State Government.

The Vice President was joined on his visit by a coterie of top officials, including Borno State Deputy Governor Usman Kadafur, NEMA Director-General Zubaida Umar, and Professor Ahmed Ahijo, the Chief Medical Director of the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.
